We (Hollace and Paul Davids) and the Sedona International Film Festival are pleased to announce the Sedona premiere presentation of our latest film, "AN ARTIST REFLECTS WITH CLARINET," a documentary that explores the significance of paintings as an art form in our modern world. In 67 minutes, the film explores questions such as: What do oil paintings contribute to elevating the human spirit that photography, films, and AI cannot? Paul unveils his passion for art that led him to create hundreds of Impressionist oil paintings, and he performs the flowing clarinet improvisations throughout the film. It has been a festival award winner for Best Experimental Film (London Vision Film Awards and Palm Springs Underground Film Festival) and nominated for Best Documentary at many other festivals in the U.S. and Europe.

This event will be a double feature. "Examination," the rarely seen 24-minute  short that Paul wrote, produced and directed when he was one of the first fellowship students at the American Film Institute Center for Advanced Film Studies, will also be screened. It is a dramatic film in the "Twilight Zone" genre with major TV and film stars of its era.

As you know, since we became residents of Sedona in 2021, many of our films have previously been shown at the Mary Fisher Theatre, including "Starry Night," "The Sci-Fi Boys," "Jesus in India," "Marilyn Monroe Declassified," "Timothy Leary's Dead," "The Artist and the Shaman," "Before We Say Goodbye" and "The Life After Death Project 1, 2 and 3."
